Business Information

This site was created from scratch using tools I had available. These pages are just a sample of my capabilities. In the near future Flash animation and more application samples will appear and give further examples.

.NET

The majority of my recent work centers around the .NET technologies. Mostly the majority of the work has centered around the Microsoft implementation since it is the most mature and stable of the platforms. I have done work and research in the various other implementations of the CLI.

Mono is one of the projects that is pretty far along in the development process. It is a self hosting implementation of the C# complier and runtime. They are also in the process of implementing the most complete list of assemblies for the platform with the goal of being as close to the Microsoft implementation as possible without reverse engineering or decompiling code.

dotGNU is another free implementation that is fairly complete in terms of its goals, however the difference is that the complier was written in C++ so some of the early issues that Mono had to deal with were avoided. The components were fairly well separated and each piece is available as a separate download.

Java

I have been working off and on in Java. I have somewhat renewed interest in it due to the J2SE 1.5 spec coming out. Also the work that has been done with the IKVM tool has renewed an interest in the Java language. Also the new tools such as Eclipse and JCreator gives me the tools I lacked previously to really go and focus on creating the applications I could with the .NET tools (WebMatrix and SharpDevelop)

C++

With the advent of Java and .NET, I have not had much need to create the "classic" Win32 applications, however I do try to keep my skills somewhat ready just in case it is needed. Mostly the embedded development still uses these skills. Also the various Unix variants are still heavy users of C++. Most of my early training centered around Turbo C++ from Borland. I branched out on my own when I could not find any courses that were available for Visual C++, the MFC and Win32 programming in C++.

While the C++ skills are a little rusty, I can still create the libraries and applications I need to get the job done.

TIBCO

With the latest training, I have begun to work with the TIBCO product stack. Business Works 2.0.7 experience has shown me the issues dealing with the newer pieces of the tool compared with the latest version of Business Works 5.1.2. there are many problems with working on Rendezvous 7.2 and Business Works 2.0.7. Also the InConcert 6.2 and HL7 components are added into the training courses.

Hawk monitoring is a good method of activating and monitoring applications. I do wish there wee more .NET bindings in the libraries, but there always is wrapping the API using Managed C++ or compiling a library and mapping that into C# using P/Invoke commands.

Below are links to my current resume and some sample web services. If there is an example of an application you would like to see in any of the areas above or that is listed on my resume, just send me an email with some details of what you would like to see. It can be items ranging from aerodynamic calculations and analysis to health care processing or HL7 processing examples. Most samples will be given using simple web services, remoting or simple no touch deployment methods.
