That's why I like rolling with the Cube...

He does things based on merit instead of fanboy-ism. Dumping Flash for Silverlight is a big step and they talk about why it turned out to be a good idea.

For those on [MySpace] and [Facebook] that want to add their Zune Card to their profiles, or if you just want the HTML to add it to your site, then use the site linked here. While I know the down and dirty details, this PHP application will generate the appropriate HTML for you.

Of course if you are really enterprising person you will take the XML from the service and create your own card model (hey maybe Silverlight) and run the code through that.

It is really neat Peter built this tool. I was *this* close to making my own. A lot of the other tools out there are nice, but didn't do secure POP3 or were limited in the number of mailboxes they supported.

Get more information from Peter's blog. (I suggested figuring out the service option; he came up with the resolution)

I found this on the Zune social forums and decided to create a post on this... basically here is the important information...

Basically the key information is this bit of HTML

<div id="zuneCard453">
<embed flashvars="baseURL=http%3a%2f%2fsocial.zune.net%2fzcard%2fusercardservice.ashx%3fzunetag%3dYOURTAGHERE%26src%3dlarge&amp;MMplayerType=PlugIn" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://social.zune.net/xweb/lx/swf/zunecard.swf?ver=1192" bgcolor="#FFFFFF" id="flashUserCard" style="" salign="tl" width="548" height="260" name="flashUserCard453" />
</div>

On myspace Div is not allowed, but the embed is converted fine... This particular card example gives you the large card.

If you want to design your own card then the "baseURL" parameter will give you the pure XML for the card. Pretty flexible, but since the site is beta, it may change in the future, but you have a lot of capability there.(example: http://social.zune.net/zcard/usercardservice.ashx?zunetag=YOURTAGHERE&src=large )

So you can add your card to any page. But remember that the site is technically beta so it may change in the future.

The Zune Journey site seems really slick. Interesting design. Also the new comercial seems to capture the attention.
