October 2006 - Posts

AWESOME! XBox is getting the update to allove video from the PC to stream to the XBox 360. This is great news.

All the other tweaks are welcome as well. But the video streaming is something that a lot of people have been asking for. Glad to see that they do listen to customers.

I am in Seattle this week, so maybe I'll have time to swing by the Microsoft Company store to pick up a few things.

Now if they could get my backward compatability games working it would be great.

[WiX] has some recent updates. Version 3.0 has been released and now has a nice installer for Visual Studio 2005. It is a great step, the next is to replace the awful Visual Studio installer projects with ones from [WiX].

Ah, one can only dream, but until then I really want to start brushing up on my [WiX] scripting.

For those of you still using Visual Studio 2003, why not give 2005 a try. It is a great tool and now people have made a template to create a web part for Sharepoint 2003 and Windows SharePoint Services v2.

Yeah we all have that problem, until our ideas ca really take flight, we have to continue our normal lives. I really hope Lemuria can get it all together and build the momentum that she had on the show. I really loved the character and wanted to se more for her. I know it takes time, but I wanted to be one of her "Legions of Light" to help maintain the balance of power.

Anyway, hopefully we will get to see more of Lemuria soon.

One last thing, September 25th was her birthday, give a belated shout if you missed it.

That heroine we all know and love had made it a step closer to imoritalization. Her T-Shirts are now available to advertise your love and dedication to the Monkey Woman cause. They are pretty neat. Maybe I'll pick one up, but I want my Lemuria shirt too.

Now that is funny. I love #9. THat had me dying. We pay to keep the crabs out of the system. Sony does not spring for free crab traps.

This was an interesting quote. Granted it is a comment from a blog, but if true, the PS3 may have issues before it even begins. They may still have games taking advantage of it, but man, when will they learn?

Well I am still in the class. I am dead tired. I actually learned how to play Texas Holdem a bit so now I can show someone else. Thanks to the engineering team that sat down with me to show how to use it.

The class is not much of what I initially expected. I was thinking that it was a course on VBScript and how to work with it as opposed to how to teach the class.

In the end, I just go for it like I do with most of my talks, but it did work out for the most part in the end.

Well it all began after a trip out of town on a request. I decided to upgrade my machine to the latest version of Windows Vista. The machine seemed to be working fine, however several of the Microsoft sites were not appearing. I tried all of the different standard things of renewing IP addresses and clearing the DNS cache.

Well since I have a ISA Server in the way I decided to take that out of the loop (even though it was working fine before I left). I then decided to plug the New laptop directly into the DSL modem. After I still had problems accessing the sites (and being exposed to the raw internet), I called the Microsoft Help Desk to ask about any issues or problems that may have been reported. Since there was nothing reported I left my name and phone number and waited for an email or phone call back (Hotmail was still working and accessible).

So after that I decided to attempt to ask the AT&T (SBC) internet help desk to monitor what is going on. And of course they said that there was no monitoring they could do. So from that aspect I was dead in the water.

I started looking at another nagging problem which was a dead hard drive I had 2 spares that might have worked. So this is where the issues began...

Yeah after a long absence, I am back again. It is a funny story. What started as a troubled internet connection quickly escelated to a all out server down situation.

Details will follow shortly.
