That question gets asked a lot. There are many answers too. Some say it is
that they love being around men of Kappa. Some say it is the "rogue" ladies who
just want to be different. I think for those who really know, it is much
deeper.
One reason quoted is the deep history of the organization. I won't get into
philosophical reasoning behind it, but the formal organizations of KKI
(Sweethearts or Kittens or Karnations or whatever) date all the way back to 1947
(some say even further).
Another reason quoted is the sense of purpose and history is not lost among
many of those chapters still existing. Also the repurposing of those chapters to
add to the legacy of the Kappa founders by include some objectives that
reach out to the female community as a whole. And the fact that the historical
roots are greatly respected.
So some of these are reasons why they still exist, but it is also best to
check with them directly. I created a section of my website that talks about and
is dedicated to these group of women as a favor to several friends.

I've been in hiding recently, mostly because of a new job. I hope to do more
work for Kappa soon. Exactly what that is I am not sure right now, but it will
be something. The spirit of the Founders always stirs in my heart, but what can
I do to add to their legacy is something left up to me. So I will be spending
some time getting back to my web site and seeing what I can do to help further
the goal of "Achievement in Every Field of Endeavour." I also want to work hard
to being a contributing member of the Kappa body. I've been subscribing to the
Kappa Journal, so the next step is renewing some of my fees.

My poor little blog, I have gone months without bloging. I'll work on it, but
this new job has me pretty busy. I got some things I wanted to comment on too so
I'll post them here too.
